Kristen Anne Bell is an American singer and actress born in 1980. Bell is a Michigan native who was born and was raised by her parents Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) as well as Tom Bell (a TV news director). She is born in Polish heritage (mother), and German, English and Scottish (father). Kristen was already a skilled entertainer at an early stage. In 1992 she won her first part in the auditions for Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell was accepted by her mother as an agent when she was just 13 years old. She was then cast for newspaper ads and commercials on TV. In addition to learning in private classes, she began her acting career around that time. Bell had a small uncredited role as a character in Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell was a part of the drama and musical club of Shrine Catholic High School. She was the star of Dorothy in the school's production of The Wizard of Oz. Bell later moved in New York City, to the Tisch School of the Arts. She studied musical theater at the Tisch School of the Arts. Bell left the school in 2001 and assumed the role of Becky, a character from Tom Sawyer. Her first film credit in Pootie Tang during 2001. Her scene, however cut, and her only appearance is in the final credits. Bell made an appearance in Broadway in The Crucible, a revival with Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
